Pasay Court Orders Neri Naig’s Immediate Release from Detention in Jail
Neri Naig’s immediate release is ordered by a Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Pasay City as per the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
The arrest of Neri Naig-Miranda, the actress-businesswoman wife of Parokya ni Edgar lead vocalist Chito Miranda, shocked countless people. She is faced with charges of alleged syndicated estafa and the violation of the Securities Regulation Code.
Neri was served with her warrant of arrest issued by the Court at a basement convention center inside a mall in Pasay City. She was brought to the Pasay City Jail female dormitory for her detention.
The wife of the Parokya ni Edgar lead vocalist is faced with an estafa case in relation to the Presidential Decree 1689 and 14 counts of violation of Section 28 of the Republic Act 8799 or the Securities Regulation Code. Neri gained support from her husband, Chito Miranda, and former Senator Kiko Pangilinan who vowed to help the couple.
Previously, Chito Miranda claimed that such incident has happened before but they were able to address it in a legal way. However, in the current situation, the singer claimed that his wife was allegedly not informed about the case and was served with a warrant of arrest without a warning.
According to Chito, his wife was an endorser of a business and her face was used in attracting investors but Neri is now the one being sued. He stressed that his wife is a very kind person. He stressed that she is the woman jailed without the option for bail while the people who are allegedly the ones who really committed a mistake are still at large.
Recently, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) revealed that Neri Naig’s immediate release is ordered by a court in Pasay. Based on a report on GMA News, the BJMP said the RTC (Regional Trial Court Branch) 112 ordered the immediate release of the actress-businesswoman.
As of this writing, there are still no updates regarding the immediate release order of the Pasay Court for Neri Naig. It came after the arraignment schedule of the case of the actress-businesswoman was moved back in December after it was scheduled on January 2025.
Neri Naig-Miranda is known as a “wais na misis”. She has several businesses and Chito Miranda has always been vocal of how amazed he is of his wife when it comes to business. The celebrity couple are blessed with two (2) sons, Miggy and Cash.
