Here’s what Vice Ganda said about stepping into drama for his new film.
Kapamilya superstar Vice Ganda is mixing drama and humor in “And the Breadwinner Is” and here’s how she prepared for the drama.
We have all loved Vice Ganda for her humor and unique brand of comedy. She also has several blockbuster comedy films but this year, she decided to step out of her usual genre and do drama.
In this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival, she is joining again through “And the Breadwinner Is”. This is an official entry in the said film festival and outside her comfort zone, she is doing drama in this film.
This is not an easy transition and there’s also pressure in working with some of the award-winning actors of the industry. How did she prepare for this?
According to the comedian, the transition was challenging and it wasn’t easy but he had some workshops attended to improve her dramatic skills. She also thanked her fellow actors for their support in the evolution of her character.
In a previous article, Vice spoke about the film, and for her, doing it was familiar but different.
She admitted that doing drama is hard for her. Vice expressed, “Yung drama, mahirap siya sa akin kasi bago sa akin ‘to. Kaya nag-workshop ako kasi ang kasama ko dito, mga award-winning actors—mga Urian, FAMAS awardees.”
This film directed by Jun Lana is set to premiere on December 25 along with the other entries.
