Countless Filipinos are struggling even more in making ends meet because of the high costs of fuel in the Philippines now. The soaring pump prices is triggered by the ongoing war in the Middle East.

The United States and Israel attacked Iran which led to the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several officials of the government as well as civilians. Iran vowed to make U.S. regret its attack with soaring oil prices.

Iran even warned the globe to prepare for oil to hit $200 per barrel. The warning came even after U.S. Pres. Donald Trump warned that Iran might be hit much harder if it will disrupt the global oil flow.

Trump defended the U.S. attack against Iran with the claim that it is allegedly in the pursuit of stopping Iran from acquiring nuclear power and destroying the Middle East and the world. Amid his claim that the war will be ended soon, an Iranian official said that negotiating with U.S. is no longer on their agenda.

In the Philippines, the Middle East war caused the pump prices to soar affecting countless Filipinos most especially the public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers as well as the private vehicle owners. Many filled their vehicles’ tanks prior to every oil price hike to avoid more expensive fuel.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos previously claimed that there is enough food and petroleum supply in the Philippines. According to him, there is no need for hoarding. His remarks came after his previous statement that the government is already talking with other countries that may supply us with oil.

Amid the Middle East war, Marcos Jr. assured the Filipinos of continued efforts of the government to help the people.
