Cops Arrest Man for Allegedly Taking Advantage of Female Drinking Companion
A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly taking advantage of his 19-year-old drinking companion in Barangay 105, Tondo, Manila.
The police authorities arrested a man for allegedly taking advantage of his female companion during a drinking session. The arrest took place over a month after the incident, following the issuance of a warrant of arrest.
According to police reports, the victim is a single mother, while the suspect is married with three children. Both individuals are neighbors, and the incident reportedly happened at a friend’s house where they had been drinking together.
“Magkapitbahay sila nitong biktima…Base sa kwento, nagkaroon sila ng inuman and then, ‘yun nga, nangyari na ‘yung panggagahasa sa bahay ng kaibigan,” Manila Police District (MPD) chief PMaj. Dave Garcia said.
The Manila Police District (MPD) stated that during the drinking session, the suspect allegedly committed the assault. However, the suspect claimed they had a mutual understanding.
He explained that after their gathering, they went upstairs, where the encounter happened, asserting that it was consensual. The suspect also stated that neither of them was drunk at the time.

“Ayun po, pagkatapos namin uminom, niyaya na ako sa taas…Doon na po may nangyari sa amin…Parehas po namin ginusto iyon,” he further explained.
The suspect added that the victim had expressed romantic feelings for him prior to the incident, which he claimed had been ongoing for a while. Despite his statements, authorities proceeded with the charges.
“Sabi niya sa akin, may gusto po siya sa akin. Matagal na. Tagal na pong may gusto sa’kin ‘yung babaeng ‘yun,” he added.
The court has not recommended bail for the rape charges filed against the suspect. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full details of the case.
