Malacañang Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro Slams Sen. Imee Marcos
CLAIRE CASTRO – The Malacañang Press Undersecretary hit Senator Imee Marcos following the presidential sister’s recent claim about the Marcos Jr. administration.
Sen. Imee Marcos has visibly aligned herself with the opposition since the arrest and the transfer of the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands. The said unexpected turn of events earned her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, criticisms.
Senator Imee even led the investigation on the arrest and the transfer of the custody of Duterte to the ICC. She even went to The Hague, Netherlands as she supports the former President amid his detention.
Sen. Imee Marcos immediately left the senatorial slate of the Marcos Jr. administration. Not later than that, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has started campaigning for her.
Sen. Imee Marcos has also spoken against her brother several times. In front of thousands of members of Iglesia ni Cristo, the Senator previously claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is allegedly into illegal drugs. She made the same accusation against the First Lady.
Sen. Imee Marcos is one of the opposition senators who skipped the Marcos Jr.’s 5th SONA or State of the Nation Address. Other absentees in the said national event were Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who said that the SONA of Marcos Jr. is allegedly a “waste of time of the Filipino people”, Sen. Robin Padilla, and Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano.
Recently, amid the detention of minority senators Rodante Marcoleta and Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that the proceedings are allegedly speedy when the ones involved are the critics of the Marcos Jr. administration. Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro reacted to her claim.
“Ang problema kasi sa iba dito, hindi ilong ang humahaba. Sa pagsisinungaling hindi ilong ang humahaba,” Castro said based on News5.
Atty. Claire Castro claimed that Sen. Imee Marcos is allegedly not looking into the evidence but the alliance of the person involved in the issue. She also recalled that it was Sen. Bong Revilla who was the first to face charges filed by the Ombudsman. The Senator was one of the senatorial candidates in the Marcos Jr. slate in 2025.
“Hindi siya tumitingin sa ebidensya. Tumitingin siya sa kaalyado. So pagka-alyado, huwag kasuhan. ‘Di ba? Fake news ulit siya. Bakit? Sino ang unang kinasuhan ng Ombudsman? Sige nga, sino? Nagpe-fake news naman kasi, eh. Sinong unang kinasuhan? Hindi po ba si Sen. Bong Revilla?” she said based on the post.
According to Atty. Claire Castro, she does not like mentioning the name of Sen. Bong Revilla considering the hurt that his family will feel but she can’t help it as there are allegedly a lot of liars around.
