Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President denied having a personal conflict with Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. citing her right to express herself as a citizen of the country.
Vice Pres. Duterte has been speaking against the government for a few years now since she and Pres. Marcos had a fall out in 2024. The public noticed what seemed to be a feud between the two (2) highest officials in the country when she resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) and left the Marcos Jr. Cabinet.

According to Duterte, she had both personal and work reasons behind her decision to resign from being the education secretary. In March 2025, the Duterte family reacted to the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is even on an overseas trip now and she’s in The Hague to visit former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She skipped the State of the Nation Address of Pres. Bongbong Marcos again.

Duterte skipped the SONA of Marcos Jr. for the third time now. Recently, during an interview in The Hague, the Vice President claimed that she has no personal issue with the President as a person. She also stressed her right to speak on the government.

“Wala kaming away ni BBM. Wala akong problema sa kanya bilang tao. May problema ako sa kanya bilang presidente dahil he’s a weak leader and the country is in chaos,” she expressed based on a post of News5.
During the interview, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte clarified that with “chaos”, she is not referring to literal and physical chaos but the government officials allegedly not uniting and the people supposedly not respecting each other anymore.
“That is my right as a citizen to express. So wala kaming alitan na personal na dalawa. Baka para sa kanya meron pero para sa akin wala. And whatever I say, whatever comment I have with his administration and with the government right now is my right to freedom of speech,” the Vice President said during the interview.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called the SONA of Pres. Bongbong a “waste of time” saying she even has no plan to read its summary.
