Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Urged To Explain Threat vs. Pres. Bongbong Marcos
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President is faced with a subpoena from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) over her threat against President Bongbong Marcos.
Countless BBM-Sara fans and supporters are currently confused about the happenings between the President and the Vice President. They made a great team during the Elections 2022 where they both emerged victorious but, now, she is throwing tirades against him.
Vice Pres. Duterte previously accused Pres. Marcos of allegedly not knowing how to be a president. According to her, with regards to his performance in a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, she will give the Chief Executive “one” as a rating.
Recently, amid the detention of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) chief-of-staff Attorney Zuleika Lopez, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her “final wish” which included the death of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez if an alleged plot against her succeeds.
The recent remarks of the Vice President earned different reactions from the Filipino people. Many individuals doubt if she needs to be checked. Amid the speculation, Duterte reiterated that she is willing to undergo a psychiatric test or a neurological exam.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also said that she is willing to undergo a drug test provided that all who are working in the Office of the President, the OVP, the Senate, and the Congress will also undergo the same test. She stressed that she is willing to undergo any test to prove her mental stability.
The statement of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte which seemingly ignited threats on the life of Pres. Bongbong Marcos caught the attention of the National Bureau of Investigation. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the NBI issued a subpoena against the Vice President.
Duterte is requested to appear at the NBI headquarters on Friday and explain her remarks against Marcos Jr. Based on the report, in a statement, the Vice President previously said that her statement allegedly “does not constitute to an active threat”.
“Common sense should be enough for us to understand and accept that a supposed conditional act of revenge does not constitute to an active threat. This is plan without a flesh,” the Vice President said.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, her remarks was “taken out of its logical context”. Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte also said that the Lopez and Inday Sara issue cannot encourage a protest among the people.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte also expressed his confidence that VP Sara can handle the situation. According to him, charges may be filed against his daughter but she will not be jailed.
