Last 2022, the WHO expressed no worry about the possibility of another pandemic due to this. Accordingly, this is spread through close contact.

Some of the signs of this Mpox are fever, chills, exhaustion, headache, and muscle weakness. It has flu-like symptoms, swelling in the lymph nodes, and rashes on the face and the body.

As per the latest from the Department of Health CALABARZON, four new Mpox cases were detected bringing the number in the region to 13. The four patients are aged between 24 to 66 and felt the symptoms in the first week of November.

The patients who tested positive were two male patients from Rizal, one male patient from Laguna, and one female patient from Laguna as well. The three males are under home isolation and being monitored by the condition of the female patient needed hospitalization. As of November 19, the female patient has since recovered.

The DOH Calabarzon Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (RESU) assures that they are closely monitoring the situation in order to prevent further spread.

Assistant Secretary of Health Or, Ariell Valencia stresses that there’s no need to be alarmed as with “robust public health measures”, the spread will be curbed and the community will be protected.
