Gerald Anderson was asked about public service
Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson stressed that he has no interest in politics as several showbiz personalities decided to run in the 2025 elections.
Aside from being an actor, Gerald is also part of the Philippine Coast Guard’s Auxiliary Search and Rescue. It is known to many that he practices this aspect of his life outside showbiz. His videos and photos showed that he helped rescue stranded residents during typhoons went viral. He is also active in different charitable endeavors.
With this, it was inevitable for people to expect that he might eventually pursue a career in politics. This was one of the questions he asked in a recent interview.
Based on the article by entertainment writer Salve Asis in Pang-Masa, Gerald Anderson said he does not aspire to have a career in politics.
“I’m just happy to be in a position where I can also help. Nagagamit ko naman ‘yung platform ko eh,” the Kapamilya actor said, adding that he knows how difficult it is to be in politics.
The actor shared that that he has friends in politics and he saw that it was not an easy task. He also stressed that he is not someone who would jump into something that he is not ready for or he is not knowledgeable enough because people’s lives are at stake.
Meanwhile, aside from his successful acting career and his capabilities to help other people, Gerald’s love life is also blooming. He is currently in a relationship with actress Julia Barretto.
Although they tend to be more private when it comes to their relationship, the couple is still sharing glimpses of their bonding moments once in a while, just like the recent birthday celebration of Gerald Anderson’s mom. Julia Barretto also joined the birthday celebration.
