19-Year-Old Woman After Companion Steals P500 Intended to Buy Illegal Drugs
A 19-year-old woman was killed after being attacked by a suspect who was enraged over the theft of P500 meant to buy illegal drugs.
On Monday morning, September 16, 2024, a woman from Tanza-Trece Martirez Road in Tanza, Cavite, lost her life after being attacked by a suspect who retaliated when her companion stole P500 intended for drugs.
According to police reports, the suspect, a 32-year-old man, stabbed the victim after the money intended for purchasing illegal drugs was taken by one of her companions. Following the stabbing, the victim’s companions quickly sought help, but she was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The suspect was immediately arrested, and the weapon used in the crime, a knife, was recovered from him. He claimed that his anger blinded him when he realized that his companion had absconded with the money meant for the drugs.
The suspect believed that the victim’s companion was responsible for the theft, leading to his violent outburst.
Police Mst. Sgt. Francis Mark Cortez of the Tanza PNP explained that the suspect’s rage was directed towards the victim after his order for illegal drugs was not fulfilled. The suspect’s frustration and subsequent violence were triggered by the stolen money and the failure of his companion to return.
“Nag-utos siya na bumili diumano ng illegal drugs, shabu dito sa kasama ng biktima, subalit itong nautusan ng suspek natin eh hindi naman bumalik, kaya naman itong suspek ang pinagbalingan ng galit itong ating biktima,” said Cortez.
The suspect now faces murder charges and is under the custody of the Tanza PNP. The incident points out the consequences of disagreements over illegal transactions and the serious impacts of drug-related issues.
