The Sandro Muhlach Case will have a Senate hearing

Sandro Muhlach Case – The legal counsel of GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque said that her clients will not attend the Senate hearing.

After Sandro filed a complaint against his alleged harassers to GMA and NBI, reports surfaced that a Senate hearing would be held. Reportedly, this will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

Senator Robin Padilla is the chairman of the Senate Public Information and Mass Media Committee, which is in charge of the hearing.

Aside from Sandro Muhlach, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, the Senate also sent invitation to invitation to GMA Network and Sparkle GMA Artists Center, as well as, to the NBI officers who accepted the actor’s complaint.

In an article in GMA Entertainment, it was said that Nones and Cruz will not attend the hearing. Atty. Abraham-Garduque said, “I will not be in Manila tomorrow but as regards my client they will not attend.”

On August 6, Boy Abunda said in his Fast Talk with Boy Abunda show that they reached out to the legal counsel of Nones and Cruz regarding the Senate Hearing. The lawyer confirmed that they received an invitation from the Senate.

She pointed out that a criminal investigation has already been conducted with regard to the case of her clients. The lawyer also shared that the invitation sent to them was for the discussion on the “Policies of Television Networks and Artist Management Agencies in Relation to Complaints of Abuse and Harassment.”

Atty. Abraham-Garduque said the Senate will talk about the policies of TV networks and talent agencies on handling complaints. However, she pointed out that her clients are not employees of GMA Network or Sparkle Artist Center, so they are not knowledgeable of the policies of said network and talent agency.
