Comelec Panel’s Misrepresentation Suggestion over Mayor Alice Guo Approved by Poll Body

ALICE GUO – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved the misrepresentation complaint against the suspended Bamban Mayor.

Undeniably, the cases and complaints filed against suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Guo continues to pile up. The Mayor is faced with allegations that link her to the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in her town as well as her questionable identity.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) found that Mayor Alice Guo has the same fingerprints with Chinese national Guo Hua Ping. It suggests that they are one person. The fingerprints of the brother of the Mayor also matched with the fingerprints of a Chinese citizen.

Currently, the authorities have yet to locate Mayor Guo. A Senate arrest order was released after she was cited for contempt for skipping two (2) hearings set by the upper chamber.

Amid questions about her identity, the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) filed a quo warranto petition challenging her eligibility for her post. The Mayor is currently suspended for a period of not more than six months after the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) filed complaints against her for allegedly allowing the illegal POGO operations in her town.

Once ousted from office, there are two (2) possible persons who may replace Alice Guo as mayor of Bamban, Tarlac according to the SolGen. Amid the authorities failing to locate the suspended Mayor, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said that Alice Guo is still in the Philippines.

Amid the scrutiny of her identity, a Comelec panel previously recommended the filing of material misrepresentation complaint against Mayor Alice Guo. The camp of the suspended Bamban Mayor previously tagged the move as “premature” while her identity remains an issue.

Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the Comelec has approved the filing of material misrepresentation complaint against Mayor Alice Guo.

According to Comelec chairman George Garcia, the recommendation of the poll body’s Law Department on filing a formal complaint against Mayor Guo was unanimous. He expressed that the preliminary investigation about the Mayor is set to begin.

As of this writing, the camp of Mayor Guo has yet to comment on the matter. More updates may be posted soon.
