Transwoman Dies After Being Beaten with Hammer by Partner
TRAGIC INCIDENT – A transwoman in Bago Aplaya, Davao City has died after being beaten with a hammer by her partner.
On Sunday afternoon (July 14, 2024), a 30-year-old transwoman named Kent Lubaton was found lifeless in her room. The suspect in this gruesome crime is her partner, Arbie Behay.
According to a neighbor who witnessed events leading up to the crime, Kent and Arbie were seen drinking together on Saturday night (July 13, 2024). The next morning, the neighbor noticed Arbie leaving the house alone.
Concerned about not seeing Kent, the neighbor checked her room later that day and found her in a pool of blood, lifeless.
The police investigation revealed that Kent had been struck on the head with a hammer, which caused her death. The motive, according to the Davao City Police, appears to be jealousy. The murder weapon, a hammer, was recovered from the crime scene.
Davao City Police spokesperson Capt. Hazel Tuazon shared, “Sabi ng mga kapitbahay ng biktima, umalis ‘yung suspek or ‘yung boyfriend ng biktima natin noong umaga. Lumabas sa bahay. Then noong hapon, hindi nila nakita ‘yung biktima. Chine-check nila and then nakita nila ‘yung patay na katawan ng biktima.”
Arbie Behay, the suspect, was arrested in Malalag, Davao del Sur. He is now facing charges of murder for the heinous act. The police acted quickly to arrest the suspect, ensuring that justice would be pursued for the victim
