PAGASA Says ITCZ and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that ITCZ and easterlies will bring cloudy skies with rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (July 6, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone and the easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James E. Villamil reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone and the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over the country.

“Makikita natin dito sa ating latest satellite images ang mga kaulapan sa central portions ng ating bansa ay ang patuloy nap ag-iral nitong Intertropical Convergence Zone at for the next 24 hours ay inaasahan natin ang epekto ng ITCZ sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” said Villamil.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and MIMAROPA.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Quezon. Flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

“Inaasahan din natin na yung easterlies ay magdudulot ng mga kaulapan at pag-ulan sa eastern section ng Southern Luzon. for the rest of the country, sa rest of Luzon at Mindanao ay mas maaliwalas na panahon ang ating inaasahan. Mainit at maalisangan throughout the day ngunit andyan pa rin ang mataas na tsansa ng thunderstorm activity sa noon or evening,” he added.

The ITCZ will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao.

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
