Man Caught on Camera Pretending to be Parcel Delivery Rider Enters House in Laguna
A man pretending to be a package delivery rider, possibly with the intention of stealing, was caught on camera entering a house in Laguna.
The CCTV footage captured the man knocking on the house’s door on Tuesday (May 7, 2024). He was seen heavily wrapped, even though the sun was blazing.
Since there was no answer from inside the house, the man went outside the gate and took a box from a parked van. After a few moments, the man suddenly entered the house.
The CCTV showed him even picking up slippers to drive the dog away from the house until they reached the kitchen. When another person descended the stairs, the man greeted them.
However, he picked up the box, raised his voice, and said, “Kanina pa ‘ko natawag!” before leaving.
The house owner, who lives in the house, suspects that the man was just pretending to be a delivery rider because they were not expecting any parcel to be delivered.
“Katok na po siya nang katok tapos sumisilip po siya sa bintana. Then after po noong wala pong lumalabas, ‘yun na po, ‘yung pumasok siya sa bahay namin,” the owner said.
The homeowner finds it alarming because it’s the first time something like this happened, where a parcel driver went straight into their house. The victim suspects that they were being observed by the man.
“‘Yung katapat po namin na bahay, sinagot niya po na merong tao. Tapos ‘yung sa kabila pong bahay, nakausap niya po ‘yung pamangkin ko. Ngayon ito pong pamangkin ko, nakapag-drop ng name. Ang tanong ‘Kanino po ba ‘yan, kay Kuya Aljhun?’ Ang sagot ng rider ‘Opo kay Aljhun'” the homeowner added.
They have reported the incident to the barangay and police, and the Land Transportation Office has traced the van where the rider took the parcel from.
