In an Instagram post shared on November 30, 2023, Kathryn Bernardo confirmed the KathNiel split after several weeks this story stayed afloat online. To prevent more fake news and fake stories to be created, the actress closed their chapter, a statement she hoped would help her and everyone in moving on.
Recently, over two months since their split has been confirmed, Daniel Padilla signed renewed contracts with ABS-CBN and Star Magic. In his contract signing, he did not forget to thank his former girlfriend and love team.
“Of course, I can’t forget Kathryn. Thank you very much for the many years we’ve spent together,” said Daniel. He also did not forget to thank those people who had been with him throughout the years.
In an interview, the actor was also asked about his stand about the controversies that rose after their split. He shared what realized during this phase of his life and according to him, this event showed him his people. He experienced eye-opening and humanizing moments after the split.
He understood why some of his fans left him and remained appreciative and grateful to those who stayed. With everything that’s been said and done, one thing is for sure for him.
“Sa lahat ng nangyari, ayoko nang makisabay. Saka parang out ako sa ganyan. Saka ‘yung nangyari, it’s very personal to me. And I don’t appreciate na ang daming nag-chi-chip in. Sabi ko, that’s how it goes, it’s showbiz, baby.”
During the times when people were left abuzz because of the issues and controversies, what he did was “namundok” with his siblings and it was the best time of his life. He distanced from the limelight as he has a big life outside the lens. He acknowledged that he works in showbiz but this is not his life alone.
“Malaki ang mundo ko sa labas din ng industriya. ‘Yun ‘yung nagpaparamdam sa akin na tao pa rin ako, e. At hinding-hindi ako pwedeng lumayo doon,” he said.
Meanwhile, Daniel was asked if he’s ready to love again and his answer was, “Definitely not. Love for human nature, ‘yun ang hinahanap ko.”
“Wala muna akong love life,” he also quipped saying that what he want to do right now is focus on his career and his family. Having a love life is not within his current perspective as of now.
