The lewd remarks made by a TNVS driver about actress Xyriel Manabat have sparked outrage online. This has prompted her to take legal action against the person, as she herself could not allow this to pass after learning about the inappropriate comments reportedly made by the driver.
Fans criticized the account named “Boss Toyo Mansi” after he posted a selfie with the actress, captioned “ang laki ng bata na ’yan,” and later followed it up with inappropriate remarks, including “jak*l.”
Through her platform, she called out the behavior, emphasizing how such actions contribute to the everyday struggles women face. She felt frustrated over what happened because of the harassment women often face, even in ordinary situations like commuting.
“Hindi ko ’yan papalampasin. Hindi dapat gawing entertainment ’yan in any form. I hope the platform or app will do something about this. It is not petty,” Manabat said in an interview after the ABS-CBN News team showed her a screenshot of the post.
She also expressed disappointment, noting that despite treating the driver with kindness, she was met with inappropriate behavior in return.
“It is never about the piece of clothing? Naka pang-work ako. Maayos ako nakipag-usap. Nag-tip pa ako. I hope your mom, family, sister, wife, daughter, makita nila ‘to. Makitang ganyan ka na tao,” she added, addressing it directly to the driver.
As the situation develops, Manabat’s strong stance serves as a reminder that no one deserves to be subjected to harassment and that speaking out can be a powerful step toward change.
