Will Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto finally collaborate in a film?
As the MMFF announced the deadline for this year, a collaboration film between Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto is being teased.
Is a Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto film already in the works? Recently, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) announced on social media the deadline for the film festival this year.
The deadline for the submission of the following:
- Letter of Intent – May 15
- Script – on or before 5:00 PM on June 15
- Finished film – on or before 5:00 PM on September 30
After the announcement, there have been speculations lingering regarding the film festival. There are talks that the couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, who starred in the MMFF 2023 movie Rewind, might have a new project. Rewind is currently holding the record as the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
There’s also talk of a possible collaboration between Vic Sotto and Vice Ganda, both of whom have dominated the MMFF in their respective eras.
Last year, Vice won the MMFF Best Actor award, and her film was among the top-grossers. As for Sotto, the family-friendly fantasy-comedy franchise, Enteng Kabisote, became a staple of the MMFF for years. His films are known for being family-friendly, comedic, and relatable.
Previously, Vice also affirmed that she will be doing a film again with Direk Jun Lana. “Call Me Mother” is the second collaboration between Vice and Lana, after “And the Breadwinner Is…” from last year’s MMFF. Both films have earned blockbuster success.
As always, Star Cinema, Viva Films, GMA Pictures, and Regal Entertainment still have strong materials lined up for the film festival. There are also some independent producers who are considering submitting promising scripts for the MMFF.
