PAGASA Says Northeast Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the northeast monsoon will bring light rains over parts of the country.
On Saturday (January 27, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA Weather Specialist Daniel James E. Villamil reported that the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains in different parts of the country.
“Tuluyan pa ngang humina ang epekto ng shear line sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa, kaya mababawasan na rin yung mga pag-ulan sa ilang areas ng Visayas at Mindanao,” Villamid said.
Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Oriental.
The northeast monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
“Lumakas pa nga ang epekto ng northeast monsoon o amihan sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa for the next 24 hours, kaya buong Pilipinas mararanasan ang epekto ng malamig na hanging amihan,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over southern Luzon, the Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao will be rough. The remaining parts of the country will have moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
“At sa kasalukuyan wala pa naman tayong inaasahang posibleng maging bagyo sa loob at labas ng Philippine Area of Responsibility, at para naman sa magiging lagay ng panahon ngayong araw dito sa Luzon, dahil sa amihan makakaranas tayo ng maulap na kalangitan na may mahihinang pag-ulan sa silangang bahagi ng Southern Luzon,” he added.
The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides.
