PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (January 12, 2024)
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that three weather systems will bring rain over most parts of the country.
On Friday (January 12, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the shear line will be affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas while the effects of the northeast monsoon will be felt in the rest of Luzon.
“Sa ating mga kababayan naman po sa may Cagayan Valley, Kalinga, Apayao, at Aurora, magdala po ng payong kung lalabas ng bahay ngayong araw dahil pa rin sa epekto ng northeast monsoon,” said Pagasa weather expert Benison Estareja.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Quezon.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, and Aurora. Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.
PAGASA also warned the public for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas will be rough. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to rough seas. Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
The weather agency raised a gale warning alert over the northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes, the northern and eastern coasts of northern Samar, and the eastern coast of eastern Samar.
“Hanggang 4.5 meters po ‘yung taas ng mga alon doon, delikado sa mga maliliit na sasakyang pandagat,” Estareja added.
