A post circulated online claiming something about Michelle Dee
Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee is the subject of this recent fake news that circulated online.
Michelle just recently finished her second international pageant. She first represented the Philippines in Miss World last 2019 and reached the Top 12 level. This year, she represented the country again but this time, in Miss Universe which was held in El Salvador.
Following the pageant that became controversial due to the wrong Top 5 list that was posted which included her name, Michelle became a victim again and this is because of fake news.
Based on the article in PEP, a post caught the attention of netizens because it claimed that Michelle Dee is now the new national director of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization. This position is occupied by Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup.
It was alleged that the official announcement about this will happen on Sunday, November 26. This was debunked by one of the MUPO executives.
Shamcey had an interview after the Miss Universe 2023 pageant and she showed no sign that she will be stepping down anytime soon. During her recent guesting on Fast Talk, the Kapuso talk show of King of Talk Boy Abunda, the MUPO national director even shared the changes that will happen to those who want to join the next edition.
“We are not allowing screenings anymore. You have to win in the regional pageants. So, if you want to become the next Miss Universe Philippines in 2024, then you have to complete locally or you have to be appointed by a local partner,” Shamcey said.
She added that the competition is more difficult but they hope that through this process, a gem out of all many aspiring women will reign supreme. One piece of information about Michelle that surfaced just recently that is not fake news is that she is an heiress of China Bank.
Meanwhile, Michelle Dee is set to return to the country on November 25.
