Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Cagayan, November 17, 2023

EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.3 magnitude quake in Cagayan today, Friday, November 17, 2023.

Following the 4.7 magnitude earthquake that hit Sarangani yesterday, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake hit Cagayan today. It had a magnitude of 4.3.

The earthquake today that struck Cagayan, Friday, November 17, 2023, at 02:17 p.m., was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Dalupiri Island.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Cagayan was located at 19.19°North, 121.19°East – 009 km North 09° West of Dalupiri Island. It had a depth of focus of 026 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded at any area as well.
