Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Sarangani, November 14, 2023
EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.7 magnitude quake in Sarangani today, Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
Following the 4.5 magnitude earthquake in Surigao del Norte several days ago, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake hit Sarangani today. It had a magnitude of 4.7.
The earthquake today that struck Sarangani, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Maitum.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Sarangani was located at 05.98°North, 124.34°East – 019 km South 64° West of Maitum. It had a depth of focus of 026 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, Intensity III was felt in General Santos City while the following instrumental intensities were recorded:

- Tantangan, South Cotabato
- Intensity II
- Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental
- Alabel, Glan, and Malapatan, Sarangani
- City of Koronadal, South Cotabato
- Intensity III
- Pikit, Cotabato
- Malungon and Maasim, Sarangani
- Tupi and Polomolok, South Cotabato
- Intensity IV
- General Santos City
- Intensity V
- Kiamba, Sarangani
