PAGASA Says LPA to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (November 9, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area and amihan will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Patrick del Mundo reported that a low-pressure was last spotted 395 kilometers west southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression.

The LPA is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility within the day. It will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan.

“Itong nasabing low pressure area ay nananatiling mababa ang tiyansa na maging isang bagyo sa mga susunod na araw, at posible na lumabas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility ngayong araw,” Del Mundo said.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands.

The LPA will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Flash floods and landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the archipelago will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.

No gale warning was raised in any parts of the country but fisher folks were advised to take precautionary measures for possible moderate to rough seas.
