Cellphone Snatcher Arrested After Victim Took His Motorcycle
A man goes viral and elicits reactions from the online community after taking the cellphone snatcher’s motorcycle in Cavite.
On Sunday (October 29, 2023), Police Colonel Jaime Santos of the Las Piñas City Police Station reported that a man named Mark Russel Zapata knew how to get even after a thief snatched his mobile phone.
According to Mark, his mobile phone worth P10,000 was snatched by an unidentified thief along Alabang-Zapote Road. The latter engaged in a physical altercation with the snatcher, who was on a motorcycle.
Unfortunately, the suspect successfully took his phone and the snatcher tried to escape. However, the victim managed to seize the keys to the snatcher’s motorcycle and rode off with it.
Santos said that it is extremely unusual because it only happens on TikTok wherein after a thief dismounts from a motorcycle to rob a victim, the victim manages to ride the criminal’s motorcycle and make a getaway.
The police officer explained that because Mark had seen such videos, he knew how to handle the situation.
“Kaya nandito po siya ngayon, nagrereklamo po siya dahil ‘yung cellphone niya, tinakbo ng snatcher; siya naman ‘yung motor ng snatcher tinakbo niya din po,” said Santos.
The cop and his colleagues find it humorous and the investigators will head to Bacoor to probe the incident as the suspect’s ID was left behind, and he is believed to be from Bacoor.
The official went live on Facebook to demonstrate that viral scripted videos can sometimes become a reality.
