Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao Occidental, October 13, 2023
EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 5.0 magnitude quake in Batangas today, October 13, 2023. Here are the details.
Following the 4.6 magnitude earthquake in Davao Occidental a few days ago, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in the province. According to the agency, the quake that hit Batangas today had a magnitude of 5.0.
The earthquake today that struck Batangas, Friday, October 12, 2023, at 08:24 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Calaca City.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Batangas was located at 13.80°North, 120.81°East – 014 km South 01° West of City of Calaca. It had a depth of focus of 002 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, the following intensities were recorded in these areas:

- Pateros, Metro Manila
- Quezon City
- Valenzuela City
- Pasay City
- Obando and Meycauayan City, Bulacan

- Talisay, San Jose, City of Lipa, Padre Garcia, and Laurel, Batangas

- Muntinlupa; Sta. Teresita, Batangas
Intensity V
- Batangas City, and Lemery, Batangas
