Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao De Oro, September 18, 2023

EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.1 magnitude quake in Davao De Oro today, Monday, September 18, 2023.

Following the 5.1 magnitude earthquake in Davao Occidental last week, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in its neighboring province. The quake hit Davao De Oro. According to the agency, it has a magnitude of 4.1.

The earthquake today that struck Davao De Oro, Monday, September 18, 2023, at 04:49 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit New Bataan.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao De Oro was located at 07.51°North, 126.16°East – 004 km South 31° East of New Bataan. It had a depth of focus of 002 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. Instrumental Intensity III was logged in Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.
