PH Holds Last Day of SIM Registration Today, July 25, 2023 As Mandated by Law

LAST DAY OF SIM REGISTRATION – Today, July 25, 2023, is the deadline of the mandatory registration of SIM card users in the Philippines.

Filipinos who are using SIM cards are mandated to register as per the SIM Card Registration law, the very first law signed by President Bongbong Marcos as the country’s Chief Executive. The authorities who pushed for the law wanted to pull down the number of scamming and spamming incidents using mobile numbers.

The different telecommunication providers were given time to come up with platforms where the users can register their SIM cards. They could either go to the service center of their telco provider or register online.

DITO, Smart, and Globe have set up online registration platforms. There are also countless reminders for SIM card users regarding the registration mandate. Initially, the deadline was last April 26, 2023 but it was extended for 90 more days. Today, July 25, 2023, is the last day of the SIM card registration in the Philippines.

Several telco providers constantly inform their users on how to register their SIM before the deadline hits. Globe sent its unregistered SIM card users the link on where they can register online. The SIM card registration for Smart users also involves only five (5) easy steps.

Moreover, DITO, also one of the the biggest telco providers operating in the Philippines now, has laid easy steps for DITO sim card registration process.

The telco providers have constantly informed the users of the possible effects of an unregistered SIM after the last day of SIM registration in PH. Points and other rewards gained by a specific number may no longer be available. Also, unregistered SIMs may be deactivated or eligible to avail several services offered by the telco providers.
