Malacañang Warns Public Against People Offering Positions in the Government

The Malacañang Palace warned the public against the people who are offering government positions in exchange for money.

The culprit who conned several businesspeople and even a local politician in Cavite who was offered a position in the government in exchange for a big sum of money was recently apprehended by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation. According to the article, the suspect’s name is John Laurence Rin, also known as Jhing Guiang.

People Offering Government Positions

The suspect pretended to be Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin’s nephew and promised the victims a position in the administration. Based on the report, Bersamin released a statement warning the public not to just believe people who offer government posts in exchange for a significant sum of money using his name.

There are situations like this where he stated that the goal is to topple the administration, so don’t fall for fraudsters’ deception. The secretary emphasized that the government will continue to pursue syndicates and people who misbehave in the name of government personnel.

The secretary congratulated the NBI for apprehending the suspect Rin and deferred prosecution to the authorities. According to the NBI investigation, the suspect extorted more than four million pesos from his victims, who were offered jobs with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and the Department of Trade and Industry.
