3 Security Guards Pretending to be Police Officers Were Reported by a Band Vocalist
Three security guards were arrested after causing a disturbance and pretending to be police officers at a bar along Makati Ave, Barangay Poblacion, Makati City last Saturday night.
The suspects were identified by Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/Brig General Kirby John Kraft as Renante Sacil, 30 years old; Lino Bartolay, 26 years old; and Richard Bongcras Jr., 35 years old.
According to the complaint filed by Jildo Miramis II, the band vocalist, and Erika Alacar, the bar manager, the suspects allegedly arrogantly identified themselves as police officers when their request to sing was not immediately granted.
During the investigation, it was found that the suspects arrived at the bar around 7:00 PM on April 22 and started drinking.
Around 9:30 PM, Sacil approached the vocalist and confronted him as to why their song request had not been granted yet. The vocalist responded that they had other song requests before them, but the suspect became angry and told him, “Don’t you know who we are? We are police officers here in Makati.”
When the manager asked for their identification cards, the suspects became more aggressive and threatened anyone who tried to calm them down.
The incident escalated into a commotion, prompting the bar manager to call the Poblacion Police Sub-station for help.
When the police arrived, they tried to calm down the suspects, but they became even more aggressive and disrespectful towards the authorities, saying, “We don’t care about you, we are Criminologists! We won’t go with you!”
Nevertheless, they were arrested as they could not do anything further.
