He stays in Vatican and most of the matters about him – his health, the events that he will be attending, his messages most especially during special celebrations, and a lot more are made public by Vatican. It is usually Vatican’s spokesperon that airs it to the public.

The Pope had his general audience at St. Peter’s Square last Wednesday but, instead of attending a television interview after the general audience, the Pope was brought by an ambulance to a hospital.

Pope Francis was admitted at Gemelli Hospital in Rome. According to the spokesperson of Vatican, the Supreme Pontiff was suffering from breathing difficulties in the days prior to it. His diagnosis required him to be confined at the hospital so his Thursday and Friday activities were all cancelled.

The Pope was diagnosed with bronchitis and he was given antibiotics. He stayed at Gemelli hospital for three (3) nights. Meanwhile, he has already been discharged.

Pope Francis even quipped following his hospital confinement saying, “I am still alive”. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, expressed his gratitude for all the prayers for his recovery.

“I thank you for your participation and also for your prayers, which intensified during these past days. Thank you,” the Supreme Pontiff said.

The Pope presided the Palm Sunday mass at St. Peter’s Square where he had a general audience after. He blessed the Palms and walked shortly with a walking stick and then sat during the ceremony.
