PAGASA Says Amihan & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring light rain over parts of the country.
On Friday (March 17, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon.
The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated light rains over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Apayao, Kalinga and Aurora.
Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said that warmer weather may prevail next week as the end amihan approaches.
“Nalalapit na po ang pagtatapos ng amihan season at maaaring sa susunod na linggo hanggang sa huling araw ng Marso ay magsimula na ‘yung warm and dry season or tag-init sa Pilipinas,” Estareja said.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.
The low-pressure area spotted off Eastern Visayas has already dissolved. “Wala po tayong namo-monitor na low pressure area o bagyo na papasok ng Philippine area of responsibility hanggang sa mga susunod na araw,” Estareja added.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over eastern section of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the archipelago will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
