PAGASA Says LPA & Northeast Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (March 16, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and amihan will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Low-Pressure Area was spotted at 390 kilometers north of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, or 125 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The LPA will bring cloudy skies, isolated rain over most of the Visayas, Mindanao.

Mababa ang tiyansa na itong low pressure area ay maging isang bagyo, at posible na din malusaw sa susunod na 24 oras,” weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

The low-pressure area will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Dinagat Islands.

The LPA and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over MIMAROPA and the rest of Visayas, Mindanao, and Bicol Region.

“However, ngayong araw po ay magpapaulan pa rin ang LPA sa ilang parte ng Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” he added.

Amihan will bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
