Leren Mae Bautista Calls For ‘Improvements’ In Miss Universe Philippines Organization
MISS UNIVERSE PH – Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Top 10 finisher Leren Mae Bautista called for ‘improvements’ in the Miss Universe Philippines Organization.
It can be remembered that Leren Mae Bautista is one of the pageant veterans who tried several times to represent the Philippines in the international pageant arena such as Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 where she was presented as the Asia Pacific International.
She again followed it up with another victory in Binibining Pilipinas 2019 where she won the title of Binibining Pilipinas Globe before her match at Miss Universe Philippines 2021.
Following the launch of various pageants today in the Philippines, Leren Mae Bautista is one of those who gave tips to the new batch of contestants of various beauty pageants such as Binibining Pilipinas and Miss Universe Philippines.
In an interview with PUSH and selected members of the entertainment press, the former beauty queen-turned-public servant said, “I think the number one thing is you have to know yourself.”
She said, as a pageant veteran, she believes that there is no perfect formula in beauty pageants. “Aside from that, dapat alam niyo ang goal niyo, dapat be yourself and just enjoy the journey. ‘Yun lang naman talaga ‘yun. There’s no formula sa pageantry. It’s just showing who you really are and kung ano talaga ang gusto mong ipakita sa tao,” Leren said.

It can be recalled that the Miss Universe Philippines Organization led by Shamcey Supsup-Lee and Jonas Gaffud became a target for many pageant fans after it failed to enter as a finalist in its match in New Orleans, Louisiana where R’Bonney Gabriel of the USA was crowned. According to the report, Leren Mae Bautista called for ‘improvements’ in the Miss Universe Philippines Organization.
“Improvements, of course. Kasi lahat naman ng organizations, hindi perfect talaga. So marami rin talaga mga lapses, mga pagkakamali or pagkukulang. I think it’s more of sa mga organizations, hindi lang sa specific organizations but for them to really care of their girls, to really focus on them and to adjust and gawin nila ang mga dapat nilang i-improve doon sa mga nakitang problems,” she said.
As a former Miss Universe Philippines candidate, Leren Mae Bautista also believes that Celeste Cortesi would have been a strong match in the Miss Universe pageant. She said, “Na sad ako noon kay Celeste. Kasi talagang prepared talaga siya and sobrang ganda talaga ni Celeste and sayang na hindi manlang siya nakapasok ng top 16.”
I think, ayun na lang siguro ang maging lesson sa atin sa Philippines na let’s re-calibrate kung ano ba ang kailangan ng Miss Universe Organization. Of course, bago na ang may-ari so malaking factor [‘yun] and I think kailangan na mabago rin ang strategy natin in terms of pagpapadala ng girls,” she added.
