KMJS Issues Statement on photo Card Snatching After their Episode
The Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (KMJS) show has issued a statement about the alleged snatching of a photo card incident after airing one of their episodes.
Some netizens were recently alarmed after hearing about cases in which photocards were allegedly stolen. A netizen reported that a K-pop star’s picture card was allegedly stolen at Metro Rail Transport (MRT) Cubao.
As a result, on March 7, ‘Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho’ published an official statement on their Facebook account, confirming the recent K-Pop photo card snatching on public transportation. According to their statement, they worked with the authorities and there was no report of a snatching event.
“Nakarating sa aming kaalaman ang tungkol sa isang online post na nagsasabing may nahablutan ng K-Pop merchandise sa MRT-Cubao. Inuugnay ito ng ilan na diumano bunsod ng pag-ere ng KMJS sa kuwento ni “Bea” na nagnakaw ng milyon sa kanyang pamilya para suportahan ang kanyang KPop collection,” the statement said.
“Nakipag-ugnayan kami sa MRT-Cubao at sa iba pang kalapit na police stations para i-verify ang insidente. Ayon sa pamunuan ng MRT-Cubao at police stations, wala anumang opisya na naiulat sa kanila na nanakawan o nahablutan ng K-Pop merchandise sa nakalipas na 48 oras. Gayumpaman, hinihikayat nilang mag-report sa kanilang tanggapan ang mga nagpakilalang biktima o sinumang may katulad na insidente para magawan ng aksyon,” their statement added.
KMJS responded the netizens, criticizing them for creating a negative impression of K-Pop goods and stating that they merely intended to educate and warn everyone. They also stated that they were taking legal action against anybody who insulted their staff members who published the Bea story.
“Nakikusap ang pamiyla ni “Bea” na tigilan na ang pang-aatake sa kanila online at pagbubunyag ng kanilang pagkakakilanlan. Lumapit sila sa KMJS para matulungang mabawi ang perang pinaghirapan nila.” the KMJS team statement reads.
