Here are the statements of Liza Soberano and Nadine Lustre about having a love team in show business.
LIZA SOBERANO – Famous actresses Liza Soberano and Nadine Lustre have these views about being in a love team in the show business industry.
In Philippine media, the use of love teams is a strategy that may not go away anytime soon. It has become prevalent that it eventually became a cultural fixture among the viewers.
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel), Nadine Lustre and James Reid (JaDine), and Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil (LizQuen) are just some of the love teams that have dominated the media in the past few years.
And among the three mentioned, only one team remained strong – the KathNiel. The latest to disband is the LizQuen. They have set different priorities in their careers and did get out of the love team that sustained their careers in the past years.
In the latest interview of Soberano, she said that being in a love team for many years has put her in a box. Her pair was her comfort zone but it limited what she can do as an actress. So, she decided to break free.
She wanted to do more and she wanted to achieve more.
“Love team is a phenomenon only created in the Philippines, and it only exists in the Philippines. To box a woman like that is so dangerous for her mental health and growth,” she said.
And her statement is contrary to what Nadine said when JaDine disbanded and when they broke up as a couple in real life.
According to Nadine, being in a love team is helpful because as the word suggests, it’s a team. And in a team, you help each other. She believes that the two people in a love team help build each other’s careers.
She said, “Being in a love team is really super helpful kasi dalawa kayo eh, it’s a team so you help each other up. you build each other’s career up. It’s really a stepping stone and I’m not gonna say na it’s a bad thing, kasi it’s a learning curve at least the burden is shared.”
