Darryl Yap After JK Labajo’s Statement: ‘Nauuna ang alok bago ang tanggi’

Director-writer Darryl Yap appeared to have this answer to Ako si Ninoy actor JK Labajo’s statement that he does not want to work with the Martyr and Murderer director.

JK portrays the role of Ninoy Aquino in the musical film directed by Vince Tanada. In a recent interview, the singer was asked if he would be willing to be directed by Darryl in a project.

JK said “no” and added that he does not want to be directed by Darryl. Following the circulation of JK’s statement online, Darryl shared this post about those who have expressed that they don’t want to work with him.

He said that in his years in the entertainment industry, he never encountered a moment when the director is the one conducting an audition. “Kaya hindi ako ang maghahanap ng katrabaho kung sakali,” he stressed.

Then, the director said that he does not want to entertain negativity and shared a quote. “I don’t want to be cruel and I don’t want to start this beautiful day with negativity, so I’ll leave a quote for everybody. ‘nauuna ang alok bago ang tanggi.'” Direk Darryl said.

Aside from JK Labajo, Direk Vince Tanada has also expressed words criticizing Darryl Yap. Martyr or Murderer, aside from Ako si Ninoy, is also a rival of the movie Oras de Peligro, directed by Joel Lamangan, who also criticized Direk Darryl in past interviews.

Cherry Pie also expressed that she does not want to work with Direk Darryl. During the media conference for Oras de Peligro, she expressed that she was not interested in doing a project with Direk Darryl as the director.
