PAGASA Says LPA & Northeast Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area will bring overcast skies with scattered rain showers over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (January 24, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and amihan will be affecting the weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the LPA has been last spotted 280 kilometers southeast of Davao City. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. The northeast monsoon will be affecting several parts of the country.

“Sa ngayon batay sa datos natin, mallit ang tiyansa na ito ay maging bagyo. Mas nakikita pa nga natin ang posibilidad na ito may malusaw sa mga susunod na araw,” weather specialist Obet Badrina said.

The low-pressure area will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.

The amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central, Southern Luzon, Visayas and the rest of Luzon will be moderate to rough. Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” Badrina added.
