PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough, Shearline & Northeast Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough of a Low Pressure Area, shearline and amihan will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (January 21, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Low Pressure Area, shearline and northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon will be affecting the rest of Luzon.

The shearline will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region. The LPA’s trough will bring similar weather condition over Caraga and Davao Region.

The northeast monsoon will also bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and CALABARZON.

The localized thunderstorms will also bring same weather condition over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency has also warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
