Ian Veneracion finally received his first Best Actor trophy

Seasoned actor Ian Veneracion shared his thoughts on winning his first MMFF Best Actor trophy after more than three decades since he started his career in showbiz.

It was followed by the movie Lapu-Lapu in MMFF 2002. He was also part of the move Segunda Mano for the 37th MMFF in 2011. The following year, he was one of the cast members of El Presidente.

Two years after that, the seasoned actor joined the cast of the film Feng Shui 2. For last year’s edition of the film fest, Ian Veneracion once again had his entry, the movie Nanahimik Ang Gabi with Heaven Peralejo and Mon Confiado, who won the Best Supporting Actor award.

In an interview on talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz’s channel, Ian was asked how he feels after having his first MMFF Best Actor trophy. “Masarap and feeling pero noong ginawa namin ‘to wala naman sa isip namin, yung intention na isali man sa MMFF,” the seasoned actor said.

He added that they did not do this movie with the thought that they get an award. The actor is also happy that while doing his job well, people appreciate it. Talking about his character, Ian said that “Chief” is an easy character to portray but Direk Shgugo Praico paid so much attention to details.

Every aspect was checked and with his co-actors, it was not that difficult. “Nagre-react lang naman ako sa mga co-actors ko,” he said. Ian Veneracion also shared that he did not expect to be the Best Actor in the 2022 MMFF.
