PAGASA Says Shear Line to Bring Cloudy Skies w/ Rains Over Parts of PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line will bring cloudy skies with chances of rains over parts of the country.
On Friday (December 30, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the shear line will be affecting the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon. The northeast monsoon will affect the rest of Northern Luzon.
The shear line will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Cagayan, Isabela, and the northern portion of Aurora. Cloudy weather with rains is expected over the provinces of Batanes, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, and Kalinga.
“Sa kasalukuyan ay umiiral ang shear line dito sa silangang bahagi ng Northern and Central Luzon, at northeast monsoon naman ang patuloy na nakakaapekto sa nalalabing bahagi pa ng Northern Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
The northeast monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with light rains over Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.
The localized thunderstorms will also bring similar weather condition over the whole Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon will be moderate to rough coastal waters. Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
The weather agency has also warned the public of possible flash floods and landslides over Cagayan, Isabela, and the northern portion of Aurora due to induced rains brought by the shear line.
