Dimples Romana Message To All "Amanda" After Best Supporting Actress Win

Dimples Romana wrote her acceptance speech on Instagram

Kapamilya actress Dimples Romana wrote her message to all the “Amanda” in her recent Instagram post after she was recognized as the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 Best Supporting Actress.

Dimples won the said award for the movie My Father, Myself which also features Jake Cuenca and Sean de Guzman. This movie, directed by prominent filmmaker Joel Lamangan became controversial because of its theme, especially since it became part of the film festival.

On the other hand, Dimples and the rest of the cast and crew of the movie are proud of this project. The actress was not able to receive her award personally and it was her co-stars in the film who received the award.

In her Instagram post, the actress said that it was just fitting that her co-stars all went up on stage to accept her award because, without them, she will not be able to portray her character Amanda well.

“Silang apat kasama pa sina Direk Joel, Nay Len, Mother Dennis and the whole team inspired me to give it my very best to make sure my work is at par with theirs. What a joy to work with people who empower you to do be better always,” Dimples Romana said.

She also shared that when this role was offered to her, although it was not the usual role that she did before, she embraced this because she is an actress. The actress also described her character who is a loving wife to Robert, the character played by Jake Cuenca.

“Amanda was suffering, she was pained and yet she chooses to forgive, to understand BECAUSE SHE LOVES,” Dimples stressed.

She also said that this recognition is an unforeseen blessing for her that came just right before this year ends. The actress also thanked all the people who have helped her throughout her career and in this project.

Then, the actress shared the message that she has for all the women who are like her character Amanda. “Sa lahat ng mga Amanda, na patuloy na nagmamahal at umuunawa, yumayakap sa mga taong mahal natin ng Walang pagtatanong, pagaaalinlangan at panunumbat, anuman ang kasarian natin, ang pagmamahal ay pagmamahal. Padayon,” Dimples Romana said.
