Sugar Miller Company Explained the Sale of Sugar Labeled BBM

A Sugar Miller Company has explained why they are selling sugar labeled under the name of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr (BBM).

The president of a Victorias Milling Company that produces the contentious “BBM Sugar” gave an explanation of the rationale for the product’s branding. This is a private sector project, according to Minnie Chua, and it was labeled that such to set our sugar apart from other sugars on the market.

“This is a private sector initiative and we marked it that way to distinguish our sugar from other sugars in the market,” Chua said in a message sent to ABS-CBN.

“This is also our way of showing support to the administration and to temper prices of sugar in the market,” he added.

One of the millers selling sugar to the government for P70 per kilo is Victorias Milling Company. When “BBM Sugar” became a social media sensation, internet users were leaving comments left and right.

Due to the initials of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., “BBM Sugar” is now exclusively offered at SRA offices in Quezon City and Bacolod City in Negros Occidental; however, it will also be offered at DA Kadiwa stores, according to the netizens.
