Civilian Agent of NBI in Cagayan Jailed for Indiscriminate Firing
A civilian agent of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was arrested by the authorities due to indiscriminate firing in Solana, Cagayan.
In Barangay Gadu, the local police detained a suspected NBI civilian agent following an allegedly careless shooting. Julio Bayson, 61, was named as the suspect by Police Regional Office 2.
Two people were hurt during the shooting. The victims were identified as Unel Daroni, 37, and Raul Macasaddud, 42, employees of the Solana Local Government Unit, all inhabitants of the aforementioned barangay, based on the report.
After a concerned resident complained about the indiscriminate firing in the vicinity, the suspect was arrested. The suspect, who identified himself as an NBI agent, reportedly confronted the two victims and threatened them.
The man was detained by Solana Police, who also seized a caliber 45 weapon with the serial number P1905911 and seven rounds in its magazine. Also found was a 45 caliber empty shell.
Authorities in the area are now in possession of the suspect. According to Police Staff Sergeant Jeriemar Q Prieto, the case’s investigator, the defendant will be charged with Grave Threat in connection with Violation of RA 10591.
