Coco Martin To Direct Jodi For MMFF, Actress Reveals Feelings

This is what Jodi Sta Maria said about having Coco Martin as a director.

COCO MARTIN – Kapamilya stars Jodi Sta Maria and Coco Martin will be working together on an MMFF film this year.

In a previous article, Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta Maria expressed love and loyalty to her home network, ABS-CBN. Despite the shutdown, she stayed and even did several projects for the network.

This is also her way to show the network her love and loyalty. This difficult time is an opportunity for them to show that with or without a franchise, they will stick with the network.

She also added, “I think, parang it’s really a blessing in disguise because kahit nawala tayo sa free TV, tayo ang nag-pioneer sa digital kasi tayo ang first sa Asia, and I think that’s a blessing.”

And now, after her series The Broken Marriage Vow, she will be working again but this time, it is going to be a film. She will be working with Coco Martin for a Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 entitled ‘Labyu With An Accent’.

This film also marks the first team-up of the two prized Kapamilya stars. Martin will be the director and Jodi feels excited about this. But apart from the excitement, she is also nervous.

“Kinakabahan… since magkatrabaho kami hindi lang bilang artista, magiging director ko siya, I had to ask questions talaga na ano ‘yung working style niya. Syempre kailangan ko mag-adjust dun. Anong oras ba siya nagigising? Para alam ko kung anong oras ba tayo dapat nasa set para ma-adjust ko ‘yung tulog ko,” she explained.

As for Coco, despite the numerous stars he has already worked with, he still feels pressured knowing that he will be working with Jodi. As much as many are aware, Jodi is one of the best actresses in the industry.

“Sobra naman ang tiwala ko kay Jodi. Kaya ako kinakabahan bilang artista pero as a director, maning-mani sa kaniya ito,” he said.

Meanwhile, the first four announced official entries for this year’s MMFF are:

  • Labyu with an Accent starring Coco Martin and Jodi Sta Maria
  • Nanahimik ang Gabi starring Ian Veneracion, Mon Confiado, and Heaven Peralejo
  • Partners in Crime starring Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi
  • The Teacher starring Joey de Leon and Toni Gonzaga
