Liza Soberano Look Back on her Audition in ‘Lisa Frankenstein’

Filipino Actress Liza Soberano is Now Part of Hollywood Movie “Lisa Frankenstein”

Liza Soberano reflected about her audition for “Lisa Frankenstein,” directed by Zelda Williams, which was the first Hollywood film she had ever worked on.

In her exclusive interview with Mega yesterday, August 26, the actress provided fans with some information about the audition procedure. She mentioned that Zelda Williams herself had pushed her to try out for a part in the film.

When she found out that the project was a go, she said to me, ‘I already have the top-billing actors casted on this project. We’re looking to cast other characters. Maybe you can audition for one of the roles in the movie!” Williams said.

Liza narrated in the interview that, “And I said, ‘Yeah, sure! Let me have a look at the script. I’ll read it and if it’s something that interests me, then I’ll audition for it.’”

Soberano received the script while she was traveling in South Korea, and it was then that she discovered the story was written by Diablo Cody, an Oscar-winning writer who she respects. As a result, she decided to attempt for a position in the production. However, since she had never done a self-taped audition before, the procedure was challenging.

“The first was actually a fail. My camera wasn’t focused the whole time, then I didn’t give myself enough headroom. I had to reshoot the whole thing,” Liza said.

Based on the report of Inquirer.Net, Soberano decided to hold back her excitement after learning she had been cast in the film because she did not want to “spice [herself] up too much” before she began working on the production.

On Monday, August 22, Soberano’s co-star, American actress Kathryn Newton, shared a behind-the-scenes look at “Lisa Frankenstein” with fans via Instagram. In what looks to be a changing room, Newton and Soberano are both seen donning bathrobes.

The report mentioned that, after weeks of rumors, Soberano’s participation in “Lisa Frankenstein” was officially announced on August 12th. She will co-star with Newton as well as Cole Sprouse from “Riverdale,” Carla Gugino from “The Haunting of Hill House,” Joe Chrest from “Stranger Things,” and Henry Eikenberry from “The Crowded Room.”

The 1989 film “Lisa Frankenstein” tells the tale of an unpopular high school student (Newton) who unintentionally revives a dashing Victorian corpse (Sprouse). This movie marks Williams’ feature filmmaking debut.

The movie’s filming began earlier this month in the American city of New Orleans, Louisiana. As of this writing, a projected release date for the movie has not been disclosed.
