JANE DE LEON – Darna actress Jane De Leon was criticized by many people and this is the reaction of Vilma Santos to this.
Former Darna, now dubbed as the Star For All Seasons, Vilma Santos is supportive of new Darna actress Jane De Leon. In a previous article, she told Jane to see the role given to her not just simply as a title but also as a responsibility to be a role model to the people.
“Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series”, apart from De Leon, will also star Joshua Garcia as Darna’s love interest and Janella Salvador as Valentina.
Jane as Darna has already taken her first flight and her transformation was awesome. It impressed a lot of people and many got convinced that she is indeed deserving of the role.
But amid the support and love she’s been receiving, she also received hate and criticism. She was criticized for having the role despite her newbie status in the industry.
And now, with all the bashing she received, Santos made a reaction and clapped back to her critics. She appealed to the bashers to give the newbies their time and chance to showcase their talent and not preempt them to fail.
She believes that if this thing happens, one thing that a person can do is to just do his or her best to prove the critics wrong. In the industry today where bashers are anywhere online, it would seem like you did not do anything well.
“Basta alam mo, as long as na ginawa mo ang best mo. Huwag ka dun mag-focus sa negative, mag-focus ka sa sarili mo kung ano pa ang kaya mong gawin,” she said.
She added that these negative comments might as well fuel Jane to do her best and rise above it.
Santos appealed based on a report from PEP, “Huwag naman sa umpisa pa lang sisirain na natin yung mood ng artista, huwag naman. Bigyan naman natin ng chance yung iba. The way I see si Jane, mukhang desidido din naman siya, so let’s give her a chance. Kaya niya yun.”
Meanwhile, the Star For All Seasons starred in four Darna films such as Lipad, Darna, Lipad (1973), Darna and the Giants (1973), Darna vs the Planet Women (1975), and Darna at Ding (1980).
