In a recent article by Giselle in her Manila Bulletin column Gossip Girl, she shared what pushed her to be part of the controversial movie and an equally controversial character. It was finally revealed that she is “Cory” in the movie but for legal purposes, the actress said that she would just refer to her role as “her character.”
Giselle Sanchez that there were two reasons that prompted her to say yes to this. She revealed that she is a fan of the movie’s writer and director Darryl Yap. “I have always wanted to do a project with Direk Darryl Yap as I am a big fan of his works as a writer and director starting from “Jowable” to “Gluta” to “Revirginized” that starred my idol Sharon Cuneta,” the actress shared, adding that because of this, she can say that Direk Darryl is the “the most brilliant director of his time.”

That was the first reason. Giselle said that Direk told her that they wanted an “intelligent and educated lady” to play the “Cory” role and this was the second reason. There was a part when her character said, “Get them out of the Philippines” and this was something new to her. As an actress, Giselle also pondered if this role is worth it.
Before she formally said yes to the role, she asked Senator Imee Marcos through a text message if that particular scenario really happened. The sister of President Bongbong Marcos replied, “‘Yun daw ang sabi ng mga Kano.”
With this, Giselle Sanchez said that she realized that all she read in history books and print media, as well as what she watched and listened to on mainstream media in the 80s and 90s was “the other camp’s side of the story because they were the ones’ sitting in the administration.”
