White House Confirms US President Joe Biden Positive for COVID-19
White House revealed the condition of United States President Joe Biden who recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The United States is one of the countries hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. This virus cost millions of lives across the globe and brought huge changes in the situation in several nations.
When countries recorded the highest cases of COVID-19, lockdowns were implemented to limit the mobility of the people as part of the efforts to fight the spread of the virus. Several businesses were not allowed to operate on a normal basis and many of them had to close after incurring only expenses with no return.
Many people died away from their loved ones as COVID-19 patients had to be isolated to prevent spreading the virus. After the COVID-19 vaccines were developed, nations moved fast to get herd immunity against COVID-19.
The United States is one of the countries that rolled out massive vaccinations. While it cannot totally spare a person from getting infected, it is believed that vaccinated individuals can fight the virus better.
Recently, fully vaccinated U.S. Pres. Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19. Based on a report on Inquirer, White House said that the 79-year-old President is experiencing mild symptoms of the disease.
White House physician Kevin O’Connor revealed that U.S. Pres. Joe Biden has a runny nose, occasional dry cough, and fatigue. Based on the report, the U.S. President has started taking Paxlovid treatment. He assured that he is doing well and he continues his duties while he is in isolation.
Aside from being fully vaccinated, U.S. Pres. Joe Biden has received the booster shots against the COVID-19 twice. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre assured that they will be releasing updates about the U.S. President’s health.
