World Health Speaks on COVID-19 Pandemic Anew
WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION – The WHO said that the COVID-19 pandemic is “nowhere near over” following the rise in the cases in several countries.
The COVID pandemic which hit several countries across the globe hard is not yet over. Due to COVID-19, millions of lives were lost in different nations. Many people died away from their loved ones as isolation of the patients is part of the protocol to fight the spread of the virus.
Several countries’ economies were dragged down by the pandemic. Small and big businesses closed as they were not able to withstand the demands of the situation which limited business operations and the mobility of the people for months.
After more than two years of fighting against the pandemic, the cases in several countries dropped and it was followed by the loosening of the restrictions. However, there were some instances when the cases began to spike again.
The World Health Organization (WHO) previously warned nations across the globe that the pandemic is not over anywhere if it is not over everywhere. The warning came amid countries loosening their restrictions.
A few days ago, the WHO said that cases in European nations may see a spike in summer following the easing of restrictions. The international body is worried that it might be another challenge on the healthcare systems of several nations.
Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the World Health said that the COVID-19 pandemic is “nowhere near over” as it cited the new waves of the virus. According to WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the virus is “running freely” and nations are not effectively managing it based on their capacity.
The WHO official further stressed that the governments must implement tested measures like the wearing of face masks and boosting ventilation to fight the COVID-19 transmission.
